Water Bottle Slings - Make Your Own
If you are travelling light and want to make sure you have your water bottle with you, why not just take it out in a bottle holder? There are plenty of options you can buy ready made but it is a nice weekend project to make one yourself using materials you likely have to hand already.
If you are going on a longer hike, it is easy to modify these bags so they can fix to your rucksack with a carrier strap. Perhaps you are cycling and don't have a bottle cage suitable? Sling a bottle bag over your shoulder and head off!
Check out these free guides to help you make your own.
1. Crochet Bottle Sling
This is for anyone with a little experience with crotchet - a great project that will make something you can use every day.
2. Paracord bottle wrap
In this tutorial video, you can find out how to make a mesh-like paracord water bottle wrap using half hitches. You can of course choose to use any other thicker string or thinner rope using the same technique. What off-cuts do you have lying around?
3. Bottle Holder Bag
Using fabric, you can create a bag-style bottle holder, even add extra pockets for your phone or keys. Why not try re-purposing some clothing or upholstery fabric that you no longer want or need? Check this out from the Sewing Times website and accompanying video on YouTube
